Tom Warner
Filmmaker, Motion Designer & Artist | Based in Svalbard
Tom Warner is a filmmaker, designer, and artist based in Longyearbyen, Svalbard. He studied Interactive Arts at Manchester Metropolitan University School of Art and has spent close to 20 years working in film, motion design, and visual storytelling. After working in boutique brand design agencies in London and Amsterdam, specialising in 2D/3D animation and commercial design, he now focuses on filmmaking and visual storytelling in the Arctic.
Beyond client work, Tom’s creative practice explores human stories, the complexities of the human condition, and philosophical ideas. His projects often take unconventional forms, favouring process-driven, experimental approaches that evolve through collaboration and context. He has worked with artists, musicians, scientists, and cultural institutions—using film, motion design, and visual storytelling to bring ideas to life—while continuing to work across disciplines.
Alongside his own projects, Tom also helps facilitate other filmmakers’ work in Svalbard, assisting with logistics, location scouting, and production support. He is a licensed A2 drone pilot and is frequently commissioned for aerial drone photography and videography.
If you’d like to discuss a project or collaboration, feel free to get in touch.
